Touch Diary - Version 4.0.0 Review

The latest update of Touch Diary introduces several enhancements aimed at improving user experience and functionality. The application now features a new material user interface that facilitates straightforward navigation. Additionally, the update incorporates a variety of diary report functions that present information in an easily comprehensible graphical format. Users can now generate reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or custom basis, coupled with streamlined backup and restore options.

1. Diary Item Settings

Touch Diary initially includes a set of commonly used diary categories such as Weather, Me, Family, Health, and Work. Users have the flexibility to edit or remove these categories and may also add new subjects that align with their interests. Each diary item can be personalized with distinct photos, names, and icons, which are modifiable by the user. It is important to save any changes made to item properties before exiting the settings page.

Important Note: Deleting a diary item will permanently remove all associated entries, with no option for recovery.

2. Daily Diary

The application allows users to enter or edit diary entries on a daily basis. Each item includes an additional comment feature for personal notes. Within the diary form, users can generate and save daily reports, which will create new folders for organized storage under the "touchdiary" directory located at the root of the SD Card.

The inclusion of a File Explorer function further enhances convenience by facilitating easy navigation through stored files.

3. Diary Report

Diary entries can be analyzed using the reporting function, which offers options for both monthly and yearly reports. All generated reports are saved for future reference.

Note: Version 4.x.x does not adhere to standard report naming conventions. The report formats are as follows: jpg, html; Daily: mm-dd-yy-DR-xxxxxxx; Monthly: mm-dd-yyyy-MR-xxxxxxx; Yearly: mm-dd-yyyy-YR-xxxxxxx.

4. File Explorer

The built-in File Explorer can be accessed through the View History section under the View Files menu. It also provides options to rename or delete files; these functions can be accessed by long-clicking on items in the file list.

5. Password Setting (Removed in Version 4.x.x)

In earlier versions, the application had an optional password protection feature. Users could initially access the app without password authentication, but it could be enabled for added security if desired.
